You may not need to product key to reactivate Windows, it depends on where you purchased your Windows licence did you purchase the Pro licence directly from Microsoft, and if so, is that a full retail Pro licence or a half-price Home to Pro upgrade licence, or did you purchase the Pro licence form a 3rd party retailer?

Log into your Microsoft account online in a web browser, go to the Devices section, do you see the currently activated device listed on your account.

    3

Download the free ShowKeyPlus app from the Microsoft Store.

Please provide a screenshot of that app window.

This is a public user forum, please hide any product key in the screenshot.

Reinstalling Windows 11 Pro on the same device will work as long as the license is valid and correctly associated with the device or Microsoft account.

Key points based on the information provided:

    1. slmgr /dli shows:
      • Edition: Windows Professional
      • Channel: RETAIL
      • License Status: Licensed
This indicates that Windows is currently properly activated with a retail license.
    2. For Windows 10/11, activation is usually handled by either:
      • A digital license tied to the device and/or Microsoft account, or
      • A 25-character product key that was used when first activating.
    3. After formatting and reinstalling Windows 11 Pro on the same PC:
      • If the license is a digital license linked to the hardware and/or Microsoft account, Windows will typically reactivate automatically once connected to the internet and signed in with the same Microsoft account.
      • If prompted for a key during setup and a digital license is not automatically detected, the same purchased Windows 11 Pro product key can be entered again, provided it is used according to the Microsoft Software License Terms.
    4. During a clean install, Windows Setup may not ask for a product key if it detects a valid key or digital license associated with the device. If the product key window appears and there is no key or linked digital license, activation will fail after installation.

    To minimize issues:

    • Ensure the Windows 11 Pro license is linked to a Microsoft account before formatting (Settings → Accounts → verify sign-in).
    • Reinstall the same edition (Windows 11 Pro) on the same hardware.
