    Hi @Imran A. Bhutto,

Based on your sharing, this error message in Excel for Mac is related to an Add-Ins conflict, and the common culprit is usually due to the Adobe Acrobat Add-in.

To resolve this issue, please open Excel and go to Tools > Excel Add-Ins > find the name Acrobatexceladdin in the add-ins list > uncheck to disable it.

Please try the step and let me know if it works. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I'm looking forward to your reply.

The AI bot is spouting Windows-based instructions which cannot be followed on a Mac.

Without any details it's difficult to pinpoint but you can try:

    • For Add-ins from the Microsoft Store: Click the Add-ins tool on the Home tab then click the More Add-ins button. On the My Add-ins page right-click the offending add-in & select the Remove command,, or
    • For 3rd party Add-ins: Go to Tools> Excel Add-ins, select the offending add-in then click the ➖ below the list to remove the add-in.

    After either, restart the program.

Since you selected For Business, though, it would be best to contact your company's IT group. This may be due to something designed for Excel for Windows which they pushed out for Mac as well. If so you may not be able to correct it at the user level.

The error indicates an Excel add-in is failing when Excel tries to load it. The fix is to identify and disable or remove the problematic add-in.

    Use these steps:

    1. Start Excel in safe mode so add-ins do not load:
      • Hold the Ctrl key while starting Excel, then choose to start in Safe Mode.
      • If Excel opens without the error, an add-in is the cause.
    2. Disable COM and Excel add-ins:
      • In Excel, go to FileOptionsAdd-ins.
      • At the bottom, next to Manage, select COM Add-ins, click Go, and clear all checkboxes to disable them. Click OK.
      • Repeat with Excel Add-ins in the Manage dropdown and clear all items.
    3. Restart Excel normally:
      • Close Excel and open it again.
      • If the error is gone, re-enable add-ins one at a time (File → Options → Add-ins) and restart Excel after each one until the error returns. The last add-in enabled is the one causing the problem.
    4. Remove or repair the problematic add-in:
      • Once identified, leave that add-in disabled, uninstall it from its source application, or reinstall/update it from the vendor.
      • If the add-in is from a third party (for example, Adobe or another vendor), contact that vendor’s support for a corrected version.

If all Office apps show similar startup errors or instability, perform an Online Repair of Microsoft 365 as described in the referenced guidance: close all Office apps, go to Settings → Apps → Installed apps, select Microsoft 365, choose Modify, then run Online Repair, and restart the Mac/PC afterward.
