A cloud-based identity and access management service for securing user authentication and resource access
Denmark phone numbers are supported for Microsoft 365 MFA. The number must be entered in full international format with the correct country/region code and as a phone authentication method, not as an extension or office number.
To register MFA for Microsoft 365 and add the Danish phone number:
- Sign in to Microsoft 365 with the work or school account and password as usual. After choosing Sign in, more information is requested.
- Select Next to start MFA setup.
- When asked for the authentication method, select I want to set up a different method.
- Choose Phone as the method.
- Select the correct country/region for Denmark and enter the 8‑digit mobile number without leading zeros or extra characters, in the phone field.
- Complete the verification (Microsoft 365 sends an SMS or call with a verification code). Enter the code when prompted.
- Finish the wizard. Next time signing in, the additional verification (code sent by SMS or call) is requested.
If an error still appears when using the phone method:
- Confirm the country/region code and number are correct and that the number is a valid mobile or voice‑capable line.
- Try an alternative MFA method such as the Microsoft Authenticator app, which is the default and recommended method.
- If phone verification continues to fail, contact the Microsoft Entra administrator to review the configured authentication methods and phone number on the user object and, if needed, to reset MFA (Require re‑register MFA) so methods can be configured again.
