Hello everyone,

I want to set up Active Directory online not on-premises, but I don't know what are the requirement for the online Azure Active directory. How do I set up Azure Active Directory so that I can make user name and email for them so they can join to the domain on the laptop? How do I join the Azure AD to laptop that work?

in the on-premises server you have to keep the server on for users to get in the laptop but how does online Azure AD work?

    Hi TechQ,

You don't need on-prem servers to use Azure Active Directory.

First you should set up your business Microsoft 365 tenant (Azure AD/Entra is the backend user database and identity system):

Set up Microsoft 365 for business

Once you have set up your M365 business domain:

Microsoft Entra join a new Windows device during the out of box experience

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/devices/device-join-out-of-box

(or) Join your work device to your work or school network
