ACS SMS Communication Service in UK

We're developing a application solution for SMS communication service with UK phone numbers. But ACS doesn't allow me to acquire a phone number as my billing address is UK based. So is it not possible to buy a UK phone number for SMS communication?

Our product engineering team is targeting to enable UK customers buy and use US numbers, telephony, SMS, by end of this year (CY 2021).
And, as for having SMS on UK numbers, the earliest they are planning on having them available is early 2022 (CY 2022).

We do not have exact dates on this yet. Please note that this timeline is just an estimate and is subject to change, depending on a myriad of factors.

    Hi - would be good to get an update on this. It seems SMS is still not available on UK numbers although the comments above suggest it was going to be available in 2022.

    Is there any update on UK customers being able to buy and use US numbers for sending & receiving SMS messages?
    Similarly is there any update on being able to buy UK numbers for SMS's?
