Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Dear Destiny,
Good day! Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
To clarify, Microsoft 365 Business Basic does not include access to the desktop versions of applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This subscription is limited to web-based and mobile versions of these tools.
While your Microsoft 365 Family Plan does provide access to desktop applications, it is licensed strictly for personal use. Business Basic credentials are associated with a business account, and Microsoft does not support mixing personal and business licenses for desktop app activation. As such, signing into desktop applications with your Business Basic credentials—even if installed via your Family Plan—will not activate them for business use.
If you require access to desktop applications under your business account, we recommend upgrading to a plan such as Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Business Premium, both of which include desktop app rights.
