I am aware of these reports, but they do not show the level of detail I am looking for.

for example, I want to see Jon Doe's detailed info in teams for a given day, what meetings he was scheduled for and which he actually attended, people and times he called or was called or chatted with.

not just a summary of minutes spent on each

    Thank you

    Steve Hathaway

    Dear Stephen Hathaway BFC,

    Greetings!

Thanks for reaching out to this community.

Based on your description, I understand your query on how to get detailed reporting from Teams for compliance investigations for your company.

According to Microsoft Teams analytics and reporting - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn, you can follow below steps as an admin to access the reports: Go to the Microsoft Teams admin center, in the left navigation, select Analytics & reports, and then under View Reports, choose the report you want to run. You can view the list of the Teams reports available in the Microsoft Teams admin center across different environments and an overview of some of the information that's available in each report here.

    Note:

    1. The reports in the Microsoft Teams admin center are separate from the activity reports for Teams that are part of the Microsoft 365 reports in the Microsoft 365 admin center. For more information about the activity reports in the Microsoft 365 admin center, see Microsoft 365 Reports in the admin center.
    2. Starting September 1, 2021, Microsoft 365 reports show anonymous user names instead of actual user names by default. To change or learn more about the related setting, please kindly check Make the user specific data anonymous.

Thank you in advance for your understanding! Your patience and cooperation will be greatly appreciated. I hope all the best!

    Dear Stephen Hathaway BFC,

    Thanks for your reply!

As far as I am concerned, besides these reports, the only related option is the audit log for events in Microsoft Teams. The audit log can help you investigate specific activities across Microsoft services. For Microsoft Teams, here are some of the activities that are audited:

    • Team creation
    • Team deletion
    • Added channel
    • Deleted channel
    • Changed channel setting

For a complete list of Teams activities that are audited, see Audit log activities | Microsoft Learn

Note: Before you can look at audit data, you have to first turn on auditing in the Microsoft Purview portal or the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. For more information, see Turn auditing on or off.

For more instructions, please kindly refer to Search the audit log for events in Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn and Search the audit log | Microsoft Learn.

If the above suggestions don't meet your requirements, it's strongly recommended to submit your valuable feedback directly to Microsoft product development team by either going to Help > submit Feedback or by posting on Microsoft Teams · Community for feature requests.

Please note that nobody here are the product developers/decision makers and has no control over the product. Everyone, including us as community moderator, can only assist you on the query for providing available solutions and feature's availability status within our scope and capability.

To check more details about how to submit feedback, kindly refer this article Learn about how to provide feedback to Microsoft - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation. I wish you all the best!
