true positives
true negatives
false positives
false negatives
accuracy
The definitions for malware are moving targets.
When rated each software differs month by month or year by year.
The ratings differ by the testing methods.
Every computer user visits different websites and has different email contacts.
Microsoft defender had had problems in its early days and I'd used Malwarebytes too.
For many years I've only used Microsoft defender.
If you choose Norton then its drivers can be stress tested.
24 - 48 hrs is sufficient for WDV testing.
If there are no BSOD then that almost always is again sufficient time to find misbehaving drivers.
Norton AV can be reinstalled and WDV can run for an additional 3 to 4 hours.
Logitech hardware can be reattached and software / drivers installed and WDV testing can be performed in a similar fashion.
Given that you live in an area subject to expected and unexpected power outages it is important that you protect your important files.
Consider making free backup images and saving the images to another disk drive or the cloud.
