The efficiency mode is turned off in Edge yet in task manager I see that edge is getting power throttled! How do I stop windows 11 from doing this?

    Hi @Rik Dhar ,

The Efficiency Mode in Microsoft Edge and Task Manager are different things with the same name. You have successfully turned off the Efficiency Mode from Microsoft Edge. As to the one from Task Manager, AFAIK, you can only turn it on/off directly in Task Manager via the option "Efficiency mode" or right click to uncheck "Efficiency mode".efficiencyMode

    UPDATE

After an investigation, currently there's no such solution to permanently disable the task manager efficiency mode for Microsoft Edge. This behavior seems to only occur in Windows 11 22H2. Windows 11 21H2 and Windows 10 both disable power throttling by default. I suggest sending feedback using Feedback Hub to Windows 11 Team and pressing Alt+Shift+I in Edge to Edge Team.

    Hello there,

May be this is the performance detector.

Microsoft Edge proactively takes steps to minimize resource usage when your device is under pressure to keep your device running smoothly. One way Microsoft Edge does this is by putting tabs to sleep when memory pressure is detected on your device. Sometimes the proactive steps that Microsoft Edge takes are not enough to completely resolve the issue. For those instances, we built a feature called the Performance detector.

Hope this resolves your Query !!

I'm having this issue since yesterday. My edge is lagging a lot for no reason, since I have a good processor and 16gb of ram. However, disabling efficiency mode in the task manager or in edge itself seem to now solve the performance problem.

Make sure to disable "save resources with sleeping tabs." Just go to settings in edge and type efficiency in the search and it should pop up.
