Unregister a sql server from a recovery service vault

Question

Hello team,

If i unregister a sql server from a recovery vault (In order to register it to another vault for testing purpose) will i lose the backups in the original vault or i can i safely do it?

see article below, your backups should be available for 14 days after you remove the server but make sure this is enabled for yuor vault first:
