Update Windows 10 to Windows 11 - Error Code 0x801f0011

I am trying to upgrade some computers, as a test to plan a massive upgrade plan for corporate computers in the company, Windows 10 to Windows 11 and I'm not having success.

The following are the tests I have performed:

  • The computers are all managed via Intune
    
  • The versions of Windows 10 on all machines is the same (22H2)
    
  • The users logging in are always corporate (Azure/O365 accounts, not local)
    

A group was created to associate the test devices to the policies/profiles to be able to perform the updates and leave them isolated from the current corporate policies/profiles (to avoid conflicts).

A profile was created in "Upgrade Rings for Windows 10 and later versions", enabling the option to upgrade devices to Windows 11.

A profile was created under "Feature Upgrades for Windows 10 and later" to indicate the version of the feature upgrade to Windows 11.

  • Tested with both policies applied. Windows 11 downloads and installs, but ends with error 0x801f0011.
    
  • The profile "Feature Updates for Windows 10 and later" is modified to install the version prior to 22H2 of Windows 11. It fails with another error (related, it is assumed, to the fact that the version of Windows 10 from which the update is done is more recent).
    
  • Try unassigning the profile "Feature Updates for Windows 10 and later" but the update never runs.
    
  • Both profiles are unassigned, leaving the test computers without any corporate update profile assigned. The computer indicates that it is eligible to upgrade to Windows 11, however the upgrade is never made available.
    
  • We test, with both profiles unassigned, trying to upgrade Windows 10 to 11 using the Windows 11 installation wizard and the same 0x801f0011 https://mega.nz/file/yUwlWIra#OzKCbumcTb7M2CzsESNokH4XLvgn6nGy8pRULORrahs error occurs.
    

In summary, testing both via Windows Update, forcing via policies/profiles, as well as using the windows 11 installation wizard, in all cases fails with the described error: 0x801f001.

I reviewed documentation regarding update management via Intune and apparently a number of licenses are required for the management, which are not currently available. However, since the profiles are unassigned, I understand that this should not affect, since there would be no administration.

It is worth mentioning that I have tried the recommended solutions for the described error (Reset Windows update, free cache, etc), however the failure persists.

I ask for help to really know the cause of the problem.

    @Pablo Villanova, Thanks for posting in Q&A. Error code 0x801f0011 can occur when attempting to update Windows 10 to Windows 11. This error code may indicate that the device does not meet the minimum system requirements for Windows 11, such as a compatible processor, sufficient RAM, and available storage space. Verify that your device meets the minimum system requirements and also make sure that all your device drivers are up to date.

    You can also use the PC Health Check app to assess compatibility. Note that this app does not check for graphics card or display.
