Hello @Matthew , Azure does not randomly or automatically create user accounts. You may've been added to an external tenant as a guest, created both a Microsoft personal (hinted by the DEFAULT DIRECTORY mention) and a Entra ID work account using the very same email address and password or self-signed for a service and created an unmanaged tenant with the same account.
To find if:
- You're are registered in on more than 1 tenant:
- Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center.
- Browse to Identity > Overview > Manage tenants.
- You're using a personal account: Its avatar will be a small person while the work account will display a keycard lanyard.
- The tenant is an unmanaged tenant:
- Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center.
- Browse to Identity > Roles and administrator > All Roles > Global Administators
- If there's none the tenant is unmanaged.
Regardless of the findings you can:
- Delete a tenant in Microsoft Entra ID
- Leave an organization as an external user
- Delete your Microsoft personal account
