Hi Experts,

Can a Windows Server Standard license with Software Assurance enabled be used on Azure Windows Server Datacenter edition for Azure Hybrid Benefit?

I have already gone through the document (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/get-started/azure-hybrid-benefit#getting-azure-hybrid-benefit-for-windows-vms-in-azure) but it does not mention whether a Windows Server Std with SA can be used on Azure Windows Server Datacenter edition or not.

Hi @Sibba Sailor , you want to know whether you can use Windows Server Standard license with active SA (Software Assurance) on Azure Windows Server Datacenter edition leveraging Azure Hybrid Benefit.

The answer is yes [Edited] no. Windows Server Standard license with active SA can be used on Azure Windows Server Standard/Datacenter [Edited] Standard edition, with the minimum of 8-core licenses per VM if the VM is 8-core or smaller. Please also note additional restriction of Azure Hybrid Benefit for Windows Server Standard: Licenses must be used either on-premises or in Azure, but not at the same time. The only exception is on a one-time basis, for up to 180 days, to allow you to migrate the same workloads to Azure.
