Update (KB5034123) refuses to install no matter what steps of troubleshooting are followed.

I've tried multiple different methods from multiple different sites that suggest fixes for the issue, including

  • Cache clearing, restarting and attempting to install (failed)
  • Clean booting, then attempting to install (failed)
  • Complete system restart (failed)
  • Disabling all non-windows programs and startup apps

The updater also throws numerous errors at me any time I try to install, such as "Download error - 0x80248014" and "Install error - 0x800f0991"

Are there any solutions to fix this issue that aren't simply telling me to do steps I've already attempted?

I finally fixed it, too. The Update from Windows 11 22H2 to 23H2 solved it, i guess.

    1. Download the Microsoft Installation Assistant from here: https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
    2. Run the Assistant in Windows 7 compatibility mode as an administrator. Let it search for Windows Updates and accept the upcoming update or if it asks to install Windows 11, accept it (No Data will be lost). The Assistant will upgrade your version from 22H2 to 23H2, but it will take some time.
    3. After the upgrade the Update KB5034123 should already be successful installed. Check your update history.
    4. If the Windows Update panel still shows the installation error or download error, suspend the update (choose the option "For a week" or so) and instantly activate it again. Now the system should search for newer updates and install them.

Hello, I suggest that try to download the update from Microsoft Catalog website in the link below and install it manually. https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB503412 If the installation still has error, try to install it with command. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/installing-windows-os-updates-by-using-dism-and/2cfd6e2e-db33-4be1-b46e-8b37f59a9b9a#:~:text=Installing%20Windows%20OS%20updates%20by%20using%20Dism%20and,Type%20below%20command%20and%20press%20enter%20...%20%E6%9B%B4%E5%A4%9A%E9%A1%B9%E7%9B%AE If the issue still insists, you may need to check the log (C:\windows_logs__cbs\cbs.log)._ Best Regards, Hania Lian

Did you already tried the command below?

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Please let me know if that works.

    Thanks.
