How long does it take to install Azure monitor agent using Data collection rule

How long does it take to install Azure monitor agent using Data collection rule? Does it take minutes or hours or days?? How can I find out the state of the installation?? Is there a command for that??

Hi, The question is a little bit unclear. Data collection rules does not install the Azure Monitor agent. You need to install the Azure Monitor agent manually, create DCR and assocaite the DCR with the Azure VM or Azure Arc server .

I do have done what you said there. But for some reason the agent will not show on Log Analytics Workspace. I have waited already 1 and half day.

In such case you need to described in details what you have done exactly and how. Also what you are checking and how in order to see if the agent is communicating. With very little details I cannot provide help.

Is there some command you can find out what is the status of agent, or why it does not show in the Log Analytics. Does it have something about user rights
