https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/reliability/migrate-monitor-log-analytics says that you need a dedicated cluster to benefit from AZs support.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/logs/availability-zones mentions that "In regions that only support data resilience, your stored data is protected against zonal failures, but service operations might be impacted by regional incidents.". From this article i understand that shared cluster LA workspace in West Europe has not data resilience, while UK South has data resilience. Is this mentioned zonal failure protection the same as AZ support?

Could you please clarify if it's possible to benefit from AZ support from a default (shared cluster, not dedicated) Log Analytics workspace configuration in UK South and West Europe regions?

    Hi,

If Log Analytics workspace (on shared cluster) is located in West Europe it does not have availability zone which means it is no zone redundant. If Log Analytics workspace (on shared cluster) is in UK South it has availability zones and it is zone redundant. This is clearly stated in the documentation.
