Yes, it’s still not possible.
Some new VS update related features have been added to VS 2022. For example, you can update VS 2022 Community to VS 2022 Community Preview directly by choosing the corresponding update channel(About online update => VS Installer > More > Update settings. About offline update => use argument "--channelURI").
However, you cannot directly update VS 2019 to VS 2022. They are two different versions of VS and need to be installed separately.
BTW, here's the test results. I share here for reference(use an updated VS 2022 Pro layout to offline update the installed VS 2019 Pro, you will get below error. The error message indicates that it cannot find VS 2022, which means that you need to install VS 2022 and then you can update it):
If you use bootstrapper file for VS 2019 instead, you may get following error:
Anyway, kindly consider installing VS 2022 side-by-side with VS 2019, instead of updating VS 2019 directly to VS 2022.
