I've already 3 different servers (Win2016-Win2022-Win11) that have LPD Service stopping/crashing after applying July Updates with CVE-2024-38027

Anybody else with same problem? Removing Updates solved the problem but it's not the ideal solution.

I uninstalled KB5040430 on Friday. it has now installed itself again over the weekend.

There's no GUI way to change the install method, I just have an option to pause future updates.

Can anyone recommend how to skip this update for now.

Saves me having to constantly have to restart LPD service with KN5040430 installed.

and MICROSOFT, WHERE IS THE FIX !!!!!

    R.

A temporary work-around is to modify Service Recovery options enabling the following checkbox "Enable actions for stops with errors". But a fix is definitely needed!

Thx for that , this would be a way to keep the update installed.

I've paused MSupdates for a month for now with the KB removed.

Does anyone know, from experience , does Microsoft eventually sort this type of problem or is it not causing enough people an issue to push MS to do something about it. ?

If you are using wsus , just create a new computer group and move the servers to this group .

    Thats how we do .
