Hyper-V VM settings inaccessible, settings window remains in constant loading state

I'm running Windows Server 2022. When trying to open the settings window for any given VM in hyper-v, the window will open but remain in a constant loading state, leaving me unable to modify any of the VM settings. The VMs themselves continue to run just fine. I have already restarted the hyper-v management service, as well as rebooted the physical host server. Any help or tips would be appreciated.

I am still living with this! *Sigh* I've been getting along by just managing the settings via Powershell commands, but this is more of a workaround than a true fix- definitely not as convenient. I've come across Reddit threads for this issue, none of them ever have a fix. Very frustrating.

Over time, I've had the opportunity to run many tests. This isn't an issue with Hyper-V itself, nor with antivirus/EDR, or even Veeam. The problem lies with the disks.

When there are too many disks in the cluster, the VM settings become slow to load. For instance, in one cluster with 420 FC volumes, the settings can take up to an hour to load. In contrast, I created a new cluster with only 15 volumes, and the settings appeared in just a few seconds.

The more volumes I added, the slower it got.

It seems that the Hyper-V Manager scans all disks when opening the properties of a specific VM. If there are too many disks, or if the disk management service takes too long to respond, the issue occurs.

Microsoft poorly designed it's Hyper-V console and doesn't seem ready to fix this problem...
