Dear all,

Does anyone know how to TURN OFF passwordless sign in on the Microsoft authenticator app?

The instructions are less than helpful.

(1) The first instruction is to turn it off through the authenticator app. There is no function within the app that allows for this. I have no idea why they state it is possible.

(2) The second instructions states to sign into the Azure portal - azure active directory - security - authentication methods. I have tried this for the past three weeks. The Azure portal - security button cannot be selected.

There has to be a logical reason they have made it impossible to turn off.

You can go to the app's "Settings -> Device Registration" section and unregister your device. Once you do this, you will need to re-authenticate to your MS apps (Outlook, Teams, ...), but you should not get Passwordless again.

Yeah, being AppleWatch user, this is a pain...

Same Here, I don´t have that option, and I really require to use a 6 digit code instead of 8 digit code... Its so weird that you cant disable passwordless because your phone is acting like a password, even if you disable it on the web, I have tried everything, exept removing biometrics from my phone, since that will block other apps that already linked to that...

    Hope Microsoft fixes this soon.
