the background image in SharePoint home page is not visible on site

The background image I added to a new SharePoint home page is no longer visible. It was originally visible and then it was not. I confirmed the image is in the site assets but no one can see it any longer.

Is the image file still present in the Site Assets library? Have you checked both the Recycle Bin and the Second-stage Recycle Bin to ensure the image hasn’t been accidentally deleted?
Are you able to see the image yourself, while others cannot? Or is the image missing for everyone, including yourself?

Yes, the image is still in the Site Assets library, it was not inadvertently deleted. Yes, I cleared the cache and cookies. Yes, I rebooted. I tried changing the image as well. Nothing works.

Thank you for your response. Just to confirm - have you already tried the solutions mentioned in this article? SharePoint site page images are not visible for the users
