In a Teams meeting, sharing a window shows only a white or black screen

(The child tag says development because that was the only choice available. We are using, not developing code)

In the last week we have been unable to share a window (app) in a Teams meeting. (We are able to share an entire screen.) When sharing the window, it shows as either a white or black window in their Teams window.

I have quit and restarted Teams, Repaired the installation, Reset it to delete the data, and reinstalled it.

The window share works in the Browser app.

The Windows app version is 25094.310.3616.953.

Windows version is:

Edition Windows 11 Enterprise

Version 24H2

Installed on ‎11/‎2/‎2024

OS build 26100.4061

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.84.0

2025-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5058411)

Any further suggestions?

Thanks.

Based on your description, I understand that you're experiencing an issue with Microsoft Teams (desktop app) where you're unable to share a specific window during a meeting. I think these following information may help you:

    • Check and update Microsoft Teams and Window OS to the latest version.
    • Clear the Teams cache from your device, based on the instruction from this article: LINK
