I just went to use Edge and the extension icon had appeared in my toolbar, I right clicked it and selected to hide it but then suddenly all my extension icons appeared on my toolbar taking up space. I now cannot hide any extensions that don't need any interaction from me (such as antivirus etc.) and they are talking up a lot of space.
I tried uninstalling it, but all I could do was Repair it, but nothing worked. I cleared my cache etc and nothing worked. All bar one extension come from the Chrome Web Store.

I seem to have managed to fix it myself by doing the following:
You have to enable the Extensions Icon.
Settings --> Appearance --> Show extensions button
If the Jigsaw piece (extensions) is showing you can right click any extension icon and the "Hide from toolbar" option is available.
If you try to hide the jigsaw piece itself then all your extensions will show up again and the "Hide from toolbar" option will be greyed out for each icon.
Totally annoying. Why do I need an extra icon in my bar when a simple right click is available?
Come on microsoft, do you even use your own products?
Stop taking up my real estate without asking!
That worked , thank you.
It's literally because Chrome did so they had to too. For some reason they don't understand that if someone wanted Chrome's awful features they'd, you know, use Chrome?
