Cannot hide extensions from toolbar

I just went to use Edge and the extension icon had appeared in my toolbar, I right clicked it and selected to hide it but then suddenly all my extension icons appeared on my toolbar taking up space. I now cannot hide any extensions that don't need any interaction from me (such as antivirus etc.) and they are talking up a lot of space.

I tried uninstalling it, but all I could do was Repair it, but nothing worked. I cleared my cache etc and nothing worked. All bar one extension come from the Chrome Web Store.

    Found out the "proper" way:

    Head to edge://settings/appearance

Turn on the "Show extensions button" and the option is no longer greyed out for individual extensions

There's now (don't know if it was before) a setting to reshow the extensions button. Enabling it allows for hiding again.
