I just went to use Edge and the extension icon had appeared in my toolbar, I right clicked it and selected to hide it but then suddenly all my extension icons appeared on my toolbar taking up space. I now cannot hide any extensions that don't need any interaction from me (such as antivirus etc.) and they are talking up a lot of space.
I tried uninstalling it, but all I could do was Repair it, but nothing worked. I cleared my cache etc and nothing worked. All bar one extension come from the Chrome Web Store.

I seem to have managed to fix it myself by doing the following:
I think I figured it out.
A few weeks ago somebody working on edge seemingly had the incredible idea to only let people hide extensions when the "Extensions button" in the toolbar is enabled.
You used to be able to hide/move them to the tripple dot menu but not anymore since that update.
For no reason.
Great job guys.
I hid the Extensions Button and had the same problem. Here is a simple solution.
Go to Settings >Appearance>Select which buttons to show on the toolbar>Enable Extensions Button.
When Extensions Button appears on the toolbar, you will have the option to hide your extensions.
So to hide your extensions from the toolbar, you need the Extensions Button to appear on the toolbar.
If you click it, it will list all your extensions.
Bonus: After you fix this, download Ultra Button Extension. It helps manage everything that is in the tool bar for you.
This should be labeled as the main answer.
