Microsoft Edge error message keeps popping up and will not go away

An error message keeps popping up in a separate window saying that Edge has stopped working, even when Edge is open and working fine. When I either hit "X" or "Close program," the box opens back up again. I have tried closing the box through the Task Manager, but even then, the box will open itself back up again. If I close Edge and then close the pop-up box, it will stay closed, but then when I re-open Edge, the pop-up box opens up again. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Edge, but this has not fixed the issue, and neither has restarting my PC.

The version of Edge I am running: Version 87.0.664.60 (Official build) (64-bit)

The version of Windows 10 I am running: Windows 10 Home 20H2 19042.685

This is the error box i am receiving by the way.

    Good Day ChrisRuggiero1,

My name is Carlo, I'm an Independent Advisor and community member like you.

I am also using Windows 10 pc. Let us work together to sort this out.

What version of Windows you are using? can you please try to check it.

    -Press Windows key + R

    -Type winver and hit enter

it will show you the version of Windows you are using.

First we need to get rid of the Egde on Startup, perform a clean boot.

This process will eliminate 3rd party application running in the background of your computer along with services that are not needed to run windows. If there's any conflicting 3rd party application that causes the issue on your computer, this process will stop it.

    1. Open the run box by pressing the Windows Key + R and type msconfig
    2. System Configuration Utility box will open and by default you are on general tab.
    3. On the General tab, click the selective startup and make sure that load system service and load startup items both have checked mark.
    4. Click on services tab
    5. Put a check mark on Hide All Microsoft Services
    6. Once Hide all Microsoft Services have checked mark on it, click on Disable All
    7. Click on the Startup Tab and click open task manager. This will open another window which contains all your startup applications on the administrator account.
    8. Disable all application that you're not using. You can simply just click on them and select disable.
    9. Click OK, Apply and close the configuration utility
    10. Restart your pc

After your device done restarting check for updates and install any available update.

    -Press Windows key + X

    -Click Settings

    -Go to Update and Security

-Check for updates and install any available updates to keep your device up to date.

I hope the information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    With Warm Regards,

    Carlo T.

The problem has changed a bit and now the pop-up box only shows up when I have Edge open and I can close it when I have closed out Edge, and it no longer pops up immediately on startup, but as soon as I open up Edge it will also show up. I have also checked and my PC says I have the latest Windows update installed.
