Edge JSON Viewer

I have been using Edge to view JSON data since I hate the layout of using Pretty-print. For some reason randomly now, when I view JSON in edge, I am getting Pretty-print instead of Edge's default custom JSON viewer. I don't think I did anything, I just randomly opened a JSON file with edge and now am getting Pretty-print viewer which I hate. Any suggestions on how to get Edge's json viewer back?

Update: Edge just updated itself, even though it shouldn't have. Guess I'll have to go through the above every 4 days until it's fixed.

New update: Now I followed exactly what I did the other day, and it doesn't work. Thanks Microsoft. Back to square one.

I hope v133 has the JSON Viewer restored.

New update: Had to download the latest v132,

Click the ellipsis (...) top right corner; select Close Microsoft Edge

check task manager to see edge processes gone. Leave task manager open.

Doubleclick the new installer in the downloads folder and yes to authorization. Let it run. Watch the activity in task manager.

When finished, go through the whole process above AGAIN!

Now, once again all my cookies are gone. I would like to see this settled soon.

I have the same issue in Edge version 132.0.2957.127 (Official build) (64-bit). JSON viewer only shows "Pretty-print" checkbox; however, the file in the viewer has no color formatting.

Yes, that's exactly the problem. See my 2 posts above to roll back to v131 to restore the JSON Viewer feature. Hopefully, they will fix this, or else people who actually rely on it will be forced to find another app to use.

The long post above worked for me to restore to v131

The shorter post was because Edge updated itself anyway, but didn't do it cleanly. Had to delete the old update folder and the new update folder, then reinstall v132 from the website, then repeat the process from the long post above to get back to where I had it. Really annoying.

    Good luck.

Not willing to try a Chrome app on Edge, even though they may be following the same standards, but specifics may be a different story.

But I'm going to find a different solution for now, because once again, despite following the recommendations of the Microsoft Support bot, my Edge just today updated itself. I'm not going to fight it again. Maybe they'll restore it, maybe not. I'll find another solution, even if I have to write something myself for the measly task I use it for.
