MS Visual C++ Runtime Library Error: An application has made an attempt to load the C Runtime Library incorrectly, Code: R6034

I recently purchased a new printer and ever since installing the printer I keep getting very annoying pop-ups (please see insert below).

I have un-installed the printer and re-installed it BUT the problem persists. I have followed most of the advice offered by people on this site and others and still nothing has fixed the issue. I have tried running "scannow" but no problems were found.

Please advise before I freak out and do something stupid.

    Hello Jan,

Thank you for replying, I understanding that it could get frustrating if the device is not working as expected.

As you have mentioned that you are using Epson Expression 312, you can download the latest drivers for the device from the link provided below.

I would also request you to get in touch with Epson Support once and check if they are aware of this issue.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Thank you.

    Hi Jan,

Thank you so much for posting your query on this forum. You have reached the right place. Let us work together to find the root cause of this issue and try resolving it.

I would like to ask few questions regarding this issue:

    1. When exactly do you get this error message? Is it when you access the printer device from any application?
    2. If yes, with which application, are you trying to access the Printer device?

This could be due to some issues with the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Package on the computer. So, let us first try uninstalling and reinstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Package on the computer and check if that resolves the issue. Please refer to the article given below to uninstall this package from the computer:

    Add or Remove Programs

Once after uninstalling it, you may try reinstall it and check if that resolves the issue. Please download this package from either of these link:

For 32 bit Operating System: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)

For 64 bit Operating System: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)

Hope this is helpful. Please get back to us with the result.

    Hello Rajesh

Thank you very much for taking the time to try to help. This error message pops up randomly and without reason. I could be surfing the net, typing a letter or watching a DVD on my pc and it repeatedly.

As for un-installing - do I un-install ALL or only Specific Microsoft Visual C ++ programmes? I have many:

    rgds

    Hello Jan,

Thank you for replying and providing the screenshot.

I would like to inform you that this issue could be caused due to following reasons.

    • Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries are missing.
    • Software problem.

I would request you to delete all the entries of Visual C++ from programs list and then reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)  and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64) from the link provided below.

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15336

If the issue still persists after installing above package, the issue should be a software problem. I suggest you take a clean boot check whether it is a software conflict issue. If not, it is still recommended to address the problem with manufacturer support. Thank you for your understanding.

Please refer the link provided below for information on how to perform Clean Boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    Note:

After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps from section “How to reset the computer to start as usual after clean boot troubleshooting” to reset the computer to start as usual.

Please monitor the system in the Clean Boot environment. If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to one application or service we have disabled. You may use the MSCONFIG tool again to re-enable the disabled item one by one to find out the culprit.

Hope the information provided helps. Do let us know the results of the troubleshooting steps, so that we can assist you further.
