Mouse and keyboard input not working after windows 10 upgrade from windows 7.
I upgraded to the window 10 tech preview from windows 7 and now my mouse and keyboard dont work once the os loads up and brings me to the sign in screen. I cant even roll back to windows 7 now because I have no mouse input except for when the bios splash screen is showing. Any help would be amazing thank you.

2015-08-15T15:15:35+00:00 My problems continued and windows didn't recognize new USB-devices. (USB device not regognized)
I turned legacy and USB3.0 support back on from BIOS (F8 key with ASUS), and started windows.
I then went to Start menu - settings - devices - device manager and from Universal serial bus controllers i uninstalled every USB-device (i didn't unplug them, just uninstalled all of them)
After restarting (needed to turn power off from computer, cause my keyboard and mouse are both USB too and with every USB uninstalled you really can't do that much:) windows installed the new drivers with restart and when i tried to plug my problem causing device, it installed it and it's working like a charm.
So it could have been corrupted USB controllers. I keep you posted, if new problems arise, happy for now.
Hope this helps someone else too.

2015-08-17T13:28:28+00:00 "Same Problem": After upgrade to Windows 10, my USB connected (NOT Bluetooth Wireless*) keyboard and mouse are unresponsive after first reboot.
I have an ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 motherboard and four days ago I completed the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The Windows 10 upgrade completed and I was able to test a couple applications and things were working great until I rebooted. Upon the first reboot after the upgrade, I lost the ability to use my mouse or keyboard. I tried other USB keyboards without any luck (I have no PS2 ports on my computer) and was not able to login. I tried the BIOS enable/disable USB3 support, unplug and shutdown tips in this thread, but nothing worked. I downloaded the bootable USB install for Windows 10 and tried the repair console with no luck. Finally, I rolled back to Windows 7 without issue.
Yesterday, I tried the upgrade again with the idea that I might download the USB drivers for Windows 8.1 after the initial boot into Windows 10 after the upgrade (when everything is working,) hoping that would fix the input issue allowing me to get past the Windows 10 login screen. Unfortunately, this also didn't work. In fact, I was able to look at the device manager and I had no yellow ! drivers. Everything was apparently working. In order to recover this time, I had to roll my computer back to a restore point from the bootable USB image. Once I executed roll back to the restore point, I was able to roll my computer back to Windows 7.
I would love to go to Windows 10, but at this point I feel pretty stuck, as I can't get past the login screen after the first reboot into Windows 10. I would appreciate any help, including what might work to try before the upgrade, or new ideas of what I could in Windows 10 after the initial boot to try and fix this.
Thank you for your attention, Microsoft.
*This may be the wrong thread, as this one has a solution for a Wireless Keyboard and Mouse problem, but it seems to have the most discussion on the input device issue. If there is a more appropriate thread for direct connected USB input devices, please point me in the right direction and I can move my conversation there.
