DBT_DEVNODES_CHANGED

Hello

my laptop suddenly started to repeatedly give me the sound of when a device gets plugged into it. With the plug and play monitor (pnpMon.zip) I found out that every four seconds DBT_DEVNODES_CHANGED happens.

There is no update available, restarting doesn't help, it started suddenly out of nowhere without me downloading anything. Bluetooth isn't active either and obviously no cable, usb stick or whatever is plugged in. However I spilled a drink over my keyboard. Maybe that is what caused it but the sound started about half an hour later.

Or is something else at fault here and I can actually do something so that it stops?

(I hope I picked the right category etc.)

Thank you for keeping me posted with the results. From this point, it's good to ensure that we secured your Operating System to be intact. From this point since you experience the connection of your USB being intermittent, I would suggest that it would be best to have your computer be checked either by your Original Equipment Manufacturer or your local technician. This is so you'd be able to have the integrity of your hardware be checked and also necessary repair can be done as this is more of a hardware issue rather than a software issue.

If you have further questions, please feel free to post on your thread.

I went through those steps you told me and the unplugged monitor seems to be successfully uninstalled.

I also went through the big windows 10 update and downloaded/used the newest troubleshooter.

The noise still apears. Sometimes the notice about the USB not being able to be detected is permanently present, right now however it isn't. Unfortunately the noise appears when the notice is present and also when it is not.
