Why is my Network Status Not Connected even though i am able to surf via Google Chrome.

But the Windows updateXbox App and other Windows Apps thinks i am not connected.

I've tried resetting, updating and rolling back my network adapter but it didn't work.

And all this started after installing the latest Windows 10 October update.

    I need your confirmation:

type in the browser www.microsoft.com and let me know if the site is reachable.

Yes, it is reachable on the Google Chrome browser but not on the Microsoft Edge browser.

If you have the possibility, look for a free wi-fi network and connect.Go to Windows Update and verify that all updates are installed.

So return to your home network and then open the Command Prompt or PowerShell and type or, if you prefer, copy / paste

ping www.microsoft.com and then press enter.

Post the result of the test.

    I don't have a wireless network adapter.

Is there any other way to download & install updates manually?

Try this way: If you have an Android smartphone or an iPhone, set up a Tethering usb connection, then connect the phone via USB cable to the PC and connect to the internet, then open Windows Update and check for updates to be installed.

Otherwise try to follow the suggestions in this guide:
