Last night (7/04/2021) I updated windows. After the update finished all looked good and the computer worked fine so i shut it down and went to bed.

This morning I turn the computer on and windows boots me into this screen:

If I continue it restarts and says "Preparing Automatic Repair". After which it brings me back to the same screen.

After trying all the options in the troubleshoot menu (all failed) I tried the solution of fixing the bootrec. Here is the output to those commands:

Not sure where to go from here but any help in fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

    Hello how are you?

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

My name is Luciano L., I am an independent consultant, I am here to help you in the best possible way.

    Try the following solution:

1- Try restarting Windows. Pressing the F8 key several times when the PC is switching on. You will access the Windows Boot Manager and see some options. Among them, select "Start Windows normally".

If it doesn't work, try the following step:

    System Restore

1- When the auto repair loop starts, you will see a blue screen called “Advanced boot options”. In this, select the "Troubleshooting" option.

2- On the next screen, go to “Advanced options”.

3- Select "System Restore" and choose a date before when the problem arose.

    I await news.

If these procedures helped you in any way, please click on "I solved my problem" and also mark as an answer, so you can help other people.

    We are always available!

    Hi Luciano,

First of f the F8 option brought me to my motherboards boot options:

Selecting my drive (in red) brought me back into the boot loop.

Selecting the "Enter setup" option just brought me to my motherboards BIOS.

I tried the system restore options and got these two errors:

    Thanks for the feedback.

As nothing worked, the last alternative is to try a new installation of Windows 10 from scratch. If you need help with the procedure I will always be available.

The system files may be corrupted and therefore the alternatives listed above do not work.

    I await news.

    Thanks for the feedback.

As the above procedures did not work, you can try to recover the system using a USB stick or DVD with the image of the system. To do this, follow the steps below:

    Media creation tool

To download the tool and create a boot disk from another computer, use the link:

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

When downloading, accept the license terms, after clicking on the option Create installation media for another computer. Disable the Use the recommended options for this computer option and click Next after selecting:

    1- Language: (Your local language).

2-Edition: (Select the Edition of your System) - If it is Windows 10 Home or Professional, select Windows 10, being Windows 10 Home Single Language, choose Windows 10 Home Single Language (You will find the Edition information in your Equipment Manual)

    3-Your processor architecture: 32-bit or 64-bit

There are 02 options to Download Windows 10

Flash Drive (Pendrive): Before selecting this option, format the Pendrive.

ISO file: Upon completion, software that burns DVD will be required.

After you have the Windows 10 Media or Pendrive, follow the next procedure:

    1. Insert the DVD or Pen drive with the installation of Windows 10;
    2. Make the equipment start the boot through it; (If you do not know how, check in the equipment manual how to change the boot order to start with the DVD or Pen drive, as you use it).
    3. As soon as the Windows installation screen loads, click Next and the Repair button will be available;

To perform a System Restore to the Previous Point.

Select Troubleshooting> Advanced Options> System Restore, then check for Previous points. A date on which your Operating System functioned normally.

    Fix startup errors

Select Troubleshooting> Advanced Options> Startup Repair, and so wait until it is possibly fixed.

    Reinstalling the System Keeping Files.

Select Troubleshooting> Restore your PC> Keep my files.

    1-Click Troubleshooting.

    2-Click Restore your PC.

    3-Click Keep my files.

Note: If the error still persists, I advise you to do a clean installation from scratch, remember that this will clean your entire system.

    I await news.
