I've seen similar posts about this but was not enough for me to resolve my issue.

The error code (0x80070057) during the format operation can be caused by a bad disk.

Anyway, let's try converting to GPT via WinRE.

    Create a USB setup disk.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-installation-media-for-windows-99a58364-8c02-206f-aa6f-40c3b507420d

Boot from the USB setup disk and access WinRE.

In WinRE Command Prompt, run MBR2GPT. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/convert-an-existing-windows-10-installation-from/aa8c2de3-460b-4a8c-b30b-641405f800d7

What if you mention the disk # (i.e., disk 0)?

    mbr2gpt.exe /validate /disk:0

    MBR2GPT | Microsoft Learn: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/mbr-to-gpt

/disk: Specifies the disk number of the disk to be converted to GPT. If not specified, the system disk is used. The mechanism used is the same as used by the diskpart.exe tool SELECT DISK SYSTEM command.
