Problem with Canon MF Scan Utility, print but don't scan

I buy new Lenovo Thinkpad and install all windows updates and drivers and software for Canon MF453dw software. When I start scanning with the CANON MF SCAN UTILITY program, the following message appears: "Cannot communicate with the scanner. The cable may be disconnected, or the scanner may be turned off. Check the scanner status and try again. Scanner driver will be terminated**.**"
I reinstalled the drivers again, reset the printer, modem. I try to blocked all firewall, but problem is not solved.

I have installed on old Lenovo which I didn't windows update and still works on it.

Your response absolutely does NOT give any factual information for us to provide further help to you.

    1. does the windows 11 built-in scaning software work with your canon scanner with 24h2?
    2. if it works, then use that.
    3. the question becomes canon mf scan utility is not compatible to windows 11 24h2
    4. then go and tell canon that their mf scan utility is not compatible with 24h2
    5. what does microsoft have to do with that?

I have spent the last two hours trying to get my MF212W scanner up and running. I'm running Windows 11 on a Lenovo Legion desktop. I followed multiple suggestions in different forums including

    1. Using Device Manager to disable Imaging Device, updating driver, and rebooting
    2. Uninstalling and reinstalling all drivers and scan utilities
    3. Applying the optional update to .NET framework for 24H2 (KB 5050577)
    4. Checking firewall settings

Finally, I went back to the Canon support site, and instead of choosing Windows 11 from the dropdown for selecting the OS, I chose Windows 10 (x64) and downloaded the, supposedly not needed for this OS scan patch: [Windows 32-bit & 64-bit] Patch for Network Scan, USB Scan.

I installed and rebooted, and my scanner was back up and running in 2 minutes. I hope this helps someone else avoid the frustration.

This also worked for me with a Canon printer (MF453dw) that wasn't even listed for the patch
