And yet another reason to own a Mac. As if we needed any more of them. Nothing but regrets for having a PC and nothing but regrets for updating to windows 11. Stupid changes making life much harder for all of us.

    No solution found either.

    Hi Daniel,

I have reviewed the issue, and from my understanding, If the "Select date range" option is missing from the Date Modified filter in Windows 11 File Explorer, you can enable it by following these steps:

Enable Date Range Picker in File Explorer

    1. Open File Explorer:

o Press Win + E to open File Explorer.

    1. Access the Search Tab:

o In the upper right corner, click on the Search box or select Search from the ribbon at the top (you may need to click on View > Show > Search box if it’s not visible).

    1. Use the Search Tools:

o Click on the Search Tools tab in the ribbon.

o If you don’t see the Search Tools, click in the search box to activate it.

    1. Select the Date Modified Filter:

o Click on Date modified from the options available.

o You should see options for different ranges like Today, This week, etc.

    1. Choose a Date Range:

o In the dropdown, look for Custom Range.... This should allow you to select a specific date range for your search.

If the Date Range Picker is Still Missing

If the above steps do not restore the date range picker, you may need to check the following settings or perform troubleshooting:

    Solution 1: Reset Folder Options

    1. Open Folder Options:

o Press Win + E to open File Explorer, then click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select Options.

    1. Reset to Default:

o In the Folder Options window, go to the View tab.

o Click on Reset Folders to reset the folder views.

    1. Apply and Restart:

o Click OK and then restart File Explorer or your computer.

    Solution 2: Check Windows Updates

Make sure that your Windows 11 is fully updated, as Microsoft may release updates that fix issues with the File Explorer interface.

    1. Open Settings:

o Press Win + I to open the Settings app.

    1. Go to Windows Update:

o Click on Windows Update in the left sidebar.

    1. Check for Updates:

o Click on Check for updates and install any available updates.

Please let me know if you need further assistance, and keep me updated.

    Best regards,

    Arvind

i try to go search tools, but i cant find data range picker, just appear today, this week, etc. the date range picker is still missing.
    then

try solution 1 : Reset Folder Options, it still cant fix it.

try solution 2 : windows update has been fully update ( windows version 23H2, OS build 22631.4249 )

maybe have to wait, microsoft to release another update to fix this issues.

my another computer with lower version windows ( 23H2, OS Build 22631.4169 ), no problem with this issues.

    Thanks

try : Use Registry Editor (Advanced)

Note: Editing the registry can have unintended consequences. Please back up your registry before making any changes.

    1. Open Registry Editor:

o Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.

    1. Navigate to the Following Key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

    1. Create a New DWORD Value:

o Right-click in the right pane and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.

    o Name it EnableDateRangePicker.

    1. Set the Value:

o Double-click on EnableDateRangePicker and set its value to 1.

    1. Restart Your Computer:

o Close Registry Editor and restart your computer.

    Final Notes

After performing these steps, check if the "Select date range" option appears in the Date Modified filter in File Explorer

I hope these steps help resolve your issue. If you need further assistance, feel free to let me know.

    Best regards,

    Arvind
