Recently i changed my motherboard to GIGABYTE, the problem is it has the serial number " Default string" So I can't able to reactivate my windows using the digitally linked key. I asked the Gigabyte also but they are saying its normal. I googled it a lot of people said we can see the device if it has the proper Serial number, without that the windows won't detect the motherboard to activate it

    Hello Palani,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

The only way forward will be to contact Microsoft support directly and get the license linked to this device. This device needs to have a microsoft account active on it for this.

Here is how to get this done.

Click on this link : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/

    Click on windows

    Click on get home support

In the subject window type in windows activation and press enter.

then click on "contact support" button at bottom.

Then in the next dropdown select windows.

Click on confirm button and you will get the option to contact support. (depending on time and location you will get the option to chat or request a callback or both)

Have you ensured the correct regional link was used for the contact as regional linkes are different for different regions.

Secnly a virtual/voip number will not work for the contact number, use a proper phone number with the correct regional code to request the call back.

If all of the above are correct and your account was signed in there will be an option to check the "request history" on the last page. Click on it. Do you see your call back requests made there?

That will be a problem since if your device does not show a serial number the activation troubleshooter will not work and the contact form is the only way for general users.

Try out the numbers listed here : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/globa...

But if this fails your only remaining option is though social media.
