Recently i changed my motherboard to GIGABYTE, the problem is it has the serial number " Default string" So I can't able to reactivate my windows using the digitally linked key. I asked the Gigabyte also but they are saying its normal. I googled it a lot of people said we can see the device if it has the proper Serial number, without that the windows won't detect the motherboard to activate it

It might be a red herring as I have another PC that literally shows: 'Serial number: System Serial Number' when I look at it on my Microsoft account. Either way I am stuck here with an unused digital key (that I cannot see) and an inactive windows installation.

I tried a clean install and no luck.

yes same, without the proper serial number windows doesn't recognize the motherboard so we can't activate it. In the login history we can see the device but we can't see that in the reactivating list right ?

Well I can see my PC in tthe reactivation list, but I still get the below, regardless of how often I try.

    Unable to activate Windows

We can’t reactivate Windows on this device. Try again later.

Did the numbers in the link fail to get you a person to talk to too?
