my computer keeps crashing with different error codes

Hi All,

Since a couple of days my computer keeps crashing since the latest windows 11 update.

Error messages are always different and I get a blue screen of death (BSOD):

  • dpc watchdog violation
  • ntoskrnl.exe
  • ...

I still have an windows.old folder from 31/07.

I already run the next commands:

  • sfc /scannow
  • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

There has not been a change in my hardware only the windows update.

The memory.dmp file is over 2GB:

Any feedback or do I need a clean install?

best regards,

Tom

    Hi Tom

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1
Please check to see if your PC is producing any minidump files, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes.

    Open Windows File Explorer.

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up.

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox... etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link.

Then post the link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you.

    2
If there are no minidump files available, please zip up that very large Memory.dmp file to vastly reduce its size and upload that for analysis.

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks for the swift reply.
Zip should be available on: https://vlaamseoverheid-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/r/personal/tom_wuyts_vlaanderen_be/Documents/minidump.zip?csf=1&web=1&e=g0rpFT

    Can you reach it?

    BR,

    Tom

Sorry Tom, I cannot access your file(s), they are not shared outside your SharePoint, please try that again.

Your minidump files indicate it is the Intel chipset drivers causing the system crashes.

Go to the support page for your PC or Motherboard on the manufacturers website, then from there, download and install the version of Intel chipset drivers they recommend and while there, check for any BIOS update that may need to be installed
