Javascript disabled on on sites on Microsoft Edge

If I open up a new tab and it goes to the default Edge page, it shows at the top javascript is disabled and cookies are turned off (red X on both in the address bar). I checked and they are all on. This started happening after an update. Going to Ksat.com shows a blank screen but it works on Chrome. Is there a way to repair Edge? Thank you.

    Dear Phillthedrill

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I understand your problem is related to JavaScript in Edge. You still have the problem of visiting Ksat.com blank page.

I understand your concerns and will do my best to assist you. However, I need more information to accurately identify and solve the problem. If possible, could you please provide the following information with me:

    • You mentioned that this problem occurred after updating, did you mean Windows update or Edge update?
    • If this problem occurs after Windows update, do you try to go to Settings-Windows Update-Delete Updates in Update History?
    • This problem occurs on all pages? Or only on specific pages? If it occurs on a specific page, please share the page link with me.
    • ”I checked and they are all on.” What did you mean? Although it is shown as disabled, but you found JavaScript and cookies are on when you checked. If there is a mistake in my understanding, please correct me in the reply.

Please share the information with me as this will determine our next steps.

We look forward to your reply.

    Best Regards,

Yes, the problem happened sometime after I updated Edge. The problem occurs on most pages. Not every single page but the majority of pages. I checked and made sure javascript and cookies are all on. I just started using Edge Beta and that all works fine and doesn't have javascript or cookies disabled at the top. I probably need to repair Edge or delete it and reinstall it.

    Hi Phillthedrill

Glad to receive your detailed clarification on this issue.

You seem to have downloaded the edge beta version where the problem disappears.

Please try re-downloading edge and installing it again (you don't have to uninstall the original edge, it will be overwritten automatically during the reinstallation process). Download Microsoft Edge

I already tried doing that. It's still the same. I downloaded it from Microsoft and reinstalled over it but it still shows Javascript disabled and cookies are blocked on every page I go to.

    Hi Phillthedrill

Since the problem persists after you reinstalled edge, the issue is most likely caused by some parts of the Windows update being incompatible with your current system environment.

Would you mind sharing the specific update patch number with me? I will take the issue in this update to the developers through internal channels.I would also recommend that you do so. Microsoft attaches great importance to user experience, you can submit your ideas and suggestions through the Feedback Hub, and the development team will regularly review submissions for ideas or fixes.

Please share the feedback link here after submitting as it will allow others on the forum to vote for your submission, including me. More votes will lead to more visibility and higher priority to the development team.

Until then, I highly recommend that you perform an in-place upgrade of your system, a step that tends to fix files that the system may have been tampered with during a Windows update.

You may in-place upgrade the system by the steps below.

Please rest assured that the in-place upgrade the system will theoretically not affect your data and applications (you need to choose to keep files and applications in the next steps), just update all the system files are the latest.

If you have important data, you may make additional backups to prevent accidental loss of your data. Also make sure there is enough free space in the system partition, at least 40GB.

    Download Windows 11 ISO file

Visit Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com) and click "Download Now" under “Create Windows 11 Installation Media” to download MCT (Media Creation Tool).

Then run the program, select "Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD or ISO file) for another PC”, and then choose Language, Version, Architecture(if you are not sure about these, choose "Use the recommended options for this PC"), then select "ISO file" in the "Select Media to Use" interface, and then a windows ISO file will be downloaded to your disk (about 4-5GB in size, it is recommended that you choose a non-system disk).

    In-place upgrade the system

After the download is completed, double-click the ISO file, double-click to run "setup.exe" in the open file explorer, and select "Change how Windows Installer downloads updates" > "Download updates, drivers and optional features", Select "Keep personal files and apps" after accepting the terms of the agreement, then click "Next" > "Install". Then the system will reboot a few times, and then enter the welcome screen.

If the problem persists after upgrading your system in-place, we recommend that you use the edge beta version first while waiting for a future update.
