AMD and Task Manager

I have 2 PC's - 1 running AMD,1 running Intel.Both predominately run the same Distributed Computing.

My Intel m/c shows on Task Manager 100% cpu usage.

My AMD m/c (AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16-Core Processor 3.85 GHz) shows Task Manager 28-40% cpu usage.

However if I load the Open Hardware Monitor prog it shows all processors running at 100% so does anyone have an explanation as to why the discrepancy between the 2?

Thank you for your time.

    Hello EllisAlden, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

    Is it your GPU or CPU that is at 100% in Task Manager?

    It would be interesting if you could access Task Manager > Processes and send a screenshot;

    What exactly is your PC model and manufacturer?

    If it's a desktop, what exactly is the model and manufacturer of the motherboard?

    Before answering the above questions I suggest you try the solutions provided in the link below:

    Hi,

    In my question I twice said the 100% was for CPU in the INTEL PC.

    My problem is that the AMD PC should also be 100%.

    The Mobo is MCI X570-A PRO

    The CPU is Ryzen 9 3950X 16-Core Processor 3.85 GHz

    I build all my PC's.

    Dear EllisAlden,thank you for the informations;

    However you sent a screenshot showing "Performance" in task manager and not "Processes";

    Did you try the solutions from the link sent in my previous post?

    If you haven't tried, I suggest you try;

    Try changing your power plan;

    Access the control panel and click on System and Security;

    Click Power Options;

    Select Balanced or Power Saver power plan;

    Run System File Checker;

    Click on the Windows search bar and type: CMD

    The search result for CMD (Command Prompt) will be displayed, click Run as administrator;

    Copy and paste the commands below by pressing Enter after typing each command line:

    Sfc /ScanNow

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

    run a disk cleanup;

    Press WIndows key + R and type: cleanmgr press Enter;

    Click Clean System Files and wait for the files to load;

    Select all items and click Ok to delete them;

    Do a clean boot;

    Press the keys: Ctrl+Shift+Esc to access the task manager;

    Click Startup and disable all programs that start with Windows;

    Restart the PC and check if the high CPU usage persists;

    Note: carry out the procedures on both PCs;

    See you soon!

    olá;

    Last try to get us on the same page :-

    I WANT 100% CPU usage.

    My Intel PC shows on Task Manager 100% CPU = Corrigir

    My AMD PC shows on TM 28>40% usage = WRONG

    MSI's own Sys Monitor shows all cores running at 100% -see attached file

    I have another monitor which shows 100% CPU usage.

    So why does Task Manager not display the correct reading?

    All your scans returned no problems and the Portuguese web-site is the standard for

    trying to fix 100%.I WANT 100%.

    Hi Ellis,

    I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

    It sounds like something is wrong.

    Please tell if there is any overclocking involved.

    Also, in openHWmonitor, what are the core temperatures while you are using the PC for general use?

    I eagerly anticipate your response.
