Windows 11 file explorer is multi-tabbed. However, I don't like multi tab file explorer and want to totally disable tabbing in file explorer. How can I disable it?

Edit: I don't like the browser-like tabs (the yellow box below), but I like the toolbar of windows 11 explorer (the red box) and feel it convenient to me. I don't want to go back to windows 10 explorer's toolbar. How can I disable the tabs while keeping the windows 11 toolbar?

    Hello! My name is Mustafa,

I am hopeful that I will be able to help you find a satisfactory solution.

Windows don't have the option to disable multi tabs option in file explorer for windows 11 yet.

You can suggest adding this feature to Microsoft for future releases through this link:

    https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback

I would suggest ignoring the feature and avoiding opening multiple tabs at the same time.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

    Warm Regards,

    Mustafa

You can set Windows 11 to use the Windows 10 File Explorer (which has no tabs) with StartAllBack and select the "Kinda 10" mode.

Note: The OP edited their post, stating they do not want to use the Windows 10 Explorer, after I posted the above information.

    Hello,

If you like, you could use option two in the tutorial below to create a shortcut that will always open old File Explorer with ribbon and not have tabs anymore.

What is the current version and build of Windows 11, type winver in Search and select the top result. Post back the details in your reply.
