My Stored passwords Missing

After a recent update to Microsoft Edge, all of my saved passwords are missing from both edge://passwords and the Wallet section at edge://wallet/passwords. I had sync enabled across all my devices, but the passwords have disappeared entirely even on my mobile device where I previously had full access.

This issue has made it impossible for me to log in to any of my accounts. I rely on Edge’s built-in password manager for both personal and work-related activities. The loss of this data has significantly disrupted my productivity and locked me out of critical services, including financial accounts and email.

What’s going on? The same happened to me. Probably it has something to do with some latest update. i understand that there was going to be some updates on Wallet. But I understood that nothing was going to happen with saved passwords.

And let me add this: Because I am not a techie, I REALLY loathe having to fix anything technology related. My motto is, "Computers are like cars to me, I just want to get in and drive them. I don't care what is under the hood and if something is wrong with it, I call a mechanic."

And I am not as excited about AI as it seems everyone else is, but I might have swayed a little during this event. Here's why:

    1. AI is free, didn't have to sign a year-long tech support agreement and give a credit card for monthly installments like I have too many times in the past.
    2. AI is not human, so they hung in there with me for the whole 2 days it took me to figure out the problem and solution.
    3. Even when I took breaks from it, I could come back hours later and AI was right where we left off.
    4. Since AI is not a person, I was not embarrassed to repeatedly say "slow down" or "I don't understand" or "Pretend that I am 5 years old" as I did many times.
    5. AI didn't give me any "attitude" at all, not even an impatient sigh while it waited for me to locate what it was telling me should be right in front of my face.
    6. AI remembered every detail of our conversation, so I never had to repeat or remind it of the facts or symptoms I described at the start of our interaction.
    7. And AI even provided little ego boosts occasionally, that sometimes were slightly patronizing, but during the moments when I was about to give up and call Geek Squad, it helped that AI encouraged me to hang in there by saying things like, "Just think how smart you're going to sound tomorrow when you tell your friends how you fixed your own computer THIS time!"
    8. AI recorded the entire conversation (2 days long it was!) and stored it on my desktop so I can refer back to it anytime. That's comforting because if an issue ever arises in the future where I have a Tech PERSON asking me, "who told you to do THAT?" I can provide the transcript showing what was done, how, and why. And I HAVE had this happen before, and all I did was shrug and say I can't remember. I'm still not getting in the self-check-out lanes at the grocery store anytime soon, but I do have a warmer feeling about AI and the advantages it may be able to provide to this stubborn old woman. So, give it a chance, just click the Co-Pilot icon and ask if it can help you see if there is a stored file of your passwords somewhere in your computer and if it starts getting all tech-talk on you, just tell it to slow down and speak in plain English, which it will do, without making you feel like a big dummy. And let us know how it turns out for ya!

    Leslie,

Go one more step. click on Clear Browsing Data, and on THAT page you should see 2 boxes on the righthand side. Look at the first box, it should say ("clear browsing data now" and the second option under it is "Choose what to clear every time you close the browser". At the end of the second option, over to the right is a little arrow, click on that and THEN you will see the list with all the toggle switches. MAKE SURE THE 5TH ONE DOWN {PASSWORDS} IS OFF. you can decide about the other categories while you are on this page, but ANYTHING THAT YOU LEAVE ON is going to be erased when you close the Edge browser. Hope this helps!
