My Stored passwords Missing

After a recent update to Microsoft Edge, all of my saved passwords are missing from both edge://passwords and the Wallet section at edge://wallet/passwords. I had sync enabled across all my devices, but the passwords have disappeared entirely even on my mobile device where I previously had full access.

This issue has made it impossible for me to log in to any of my accounts. I rely on Edge’s built-in password manager for both personal and work-related activities. The loss of this data has significantly disrupted my productivity and locked me out of critical services, including financial accounts and email.

What’s going on? The same happened to me. Probably it has something to do with some latest update. i understand that there was going to be some updates on Wallet. But I understood that nothing was going to happen with saved passwords.

I had the same issue but was able to restore my passwords by disabling the "clear passwords" option on edge://settings/privacy/clearBrowsingData to stop them from being erased. Then doing the following to restore my old passwords:

    1. Disable Password Sync
    2. Navigate to C:\Users<your name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default
    3. Look for a file named "Login Data", right click and choose "Properties"
    4. Select the "Previous Versions" tab
    5. CTL+C Copy an earlier version and paste it somewhere safe. You may want to grab multiple versions and tuck them away as you look for the last "good" one.f
    6. Close Edge (you may need to kill all msedge.exe instances in task manager
    7. Copy a restored "Login Data" over the current version
    8. Restart Edge and you should see your passwords restored
    9. Re-enable password sync and navigate the messages about merging into the cloud.
    10. Grumbled loudly, felt relieved, and then make that backup I always thought about making. Well, my passwords disappeared again. I repeated the above steps to get them back then a day or so later, poof, gone again. I repeated the steps and exported my passwords then waited. They disappeared a third time. But then I re-imported them from the export and they seem to have stuck. Oh, and lots of extra grumbling along the way.

This is a serious bug. But at least I was able to get them back. I hope others can do the same.

This is driving me insane. I noticed the problem just over a week ago on my main PC. Now that MS Authenticator doesn't keep a copy of the passwords, I got a little worried, especially seeing as I have over 500 websites and 800 passwords stored, all randomly generated. So I started up a laptop I most recently used, disabled the Wi-Fi, started Edge, and then exported the passwords to a CSV file. I then enabled Wi-Fi, and as expected, I just watched the passwords disappear.

So, I disabled the sync and then reimported the passwords, turned sync back on and watched it all sync back up again. Back on my main PC and my phone, everything is back to normal. However, this has now happened every other day since then. I have done everything I can think of, i.e. sign out of all devices/sessions via the Microsoft account page, reset all browsers, clear caches, completely disable sync, sign out of each browser separately, log back in using only one device, ensure all passwords are imported, re-enable sync and then sign back in on other devices. Each time I do something like this, it appears to work, but within 24-48 hours, the passwords just disappear again.

I am out of ideas, and it's starting to become very tedious, especially when I am just trying to sign into a website on my phone while away from a PC.

I did a system restore going back to my last working mode. Then went to settings in Edge and passwords. Then exported the .csv file and imported that same file after I did the new update.

    Simply works!!
