Authentication failed error on Outlook application on Android device

I am experiencing this same issue of the Outlook application on my Samsung Galaxy (Model SGH-T959V, Firmware Version 2.2.1).  I first encountered the issue when I updated my Hotmail application a couple of weeks ago.  That Hotmail update then provides no other option than to Upgrade to Outlook.  After installing the Outlook application, I sign in using my hotmail email and password.  The next step asks if I will "let this app access your info" at which point I press the Yes button.  Soon after that, I receive a message that "Authentification failed; Authentication was not successful" with a button to "Try Again."  I have tried again multiple times.  I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Outlook application numerous times for the past two weeks and I run into the same result.

Please fix this issue soon or reinstate the previous version of Hotmail in the Play Store since the Hotmail application was working just fine.

I appreciate your time.

Peace be with you.

Original title: Authentication failed; Authentication was not successful

Sincerely,

Joseph Houser

Hello - any news on a resolution to this?  I don't think there's any more information I can give, except for maybe the details of my phone...

    Handset Samsung Galaxy Ace,

    Model Number GT-S5830

    Android Version 2.2.1

    Baseband Version S5830BOKA1

    Kernel Version2.6.32.9-perf root@dell105#1

    Build Number FROYO.BOKA3

If you can't resolve this, can you please make the old version available in the play store.

    Many thanks,

    Mike.

For the second time, nobody can access their accounts to even get to the message screen. This is absolutely hopeless. I can see no fix is coming. It has NOTHING to do with our accounts as we can access then fine on a PC. It's the app. Please stop posting the 11 steps when that isn't relevant to the issue. We cannot get any log files.

What happens is as follows (and I will add pictures just so you know exactly where the issue occurs). We download the app and install it. The app boots up fine and asks for our login details. We type in the login details and click 'Sign In.'

Then we're greeted with this page: http://bit.ly/10Eo9cn

And that is the last thing we can do anything with. Upon choosing 'Yes.' from that page/screen we are then subjected to this: http://bit.ly/13vyjO6

On every single account we try.

The Hotmail app worked absolutely fine. It should not have been sunsetted if it worked.
