Windows 2019 server RDS disconnecting with error 227

We have a few W2019 servers (ver 1809) that are often disconnecting the RDP session and I noticed from event log:

RemoteDesktopServices-RdpCoreTS 227 RemoteFX module

'Failed CreateVirtualChannel call on this Connections Stack' in CUMRDPConnection::CreateVirtualChannel at 2498 err=[0xd0000001]

Many suggestions using search mentions that RemoteFX should be disabled, but it should not be in that server anymore?

    Hello @Lahtinen Kimmo (Valtori) ,

    Thanks for your query.

1.From the error message, it seems RemoteFX fails to set things up correctly before eventually giving up and killing the RDP session. Suggestions are to disable RemoteFX through group policy. When it comes to RemoteApps, it's also needed to disable relevant registry value.

2.RemoteFX vGPU makes it possible for multiple virtual machines to share a physical GPU. This feature was introduced in Windows 7 and was removed as an option for users in Windows Server 2019. We are now aware that the current implementation of RemoteFX vGPU appears susceptible to security vulnerabilities (see the FAQ section for CVE details). Because these newly identified vulnerabilities are architectural, and the feature is already removed from newer versions of Windows, the April 13, 2021 Windows Security Updates and all superseding Windows Updates will no longer contain the RemoteFX vGPU feature.

To mitigate potential security risks within RemoteFX vGPU, we strongly recommend that users consider using an alternative vGPU technology. Secure GPU virtualization is available through Discrete Device Assignment (DDA) in Windows Server LTSC releases (Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019) and Windows Server SAC releases (Windows Server, version 1803 and later versions). https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/deploy/deploying-graphics-devices-using-dda

Thank you for a reply. I am somewhat confused as the OS is:

    Microsoft Windows Server
    Version 1809 (05 Build 17763.1999)

    We have installed all patches.

I understood from the comments that RemoteFX is already removed. So shall I still need to do that GPO-fix? I don't actually find those GPO settings with Windows Server 2019!

I cannot find anything about RemoteFX from those Windows Server 2019 computers and I cannot disable it. Also this KB-article quite clearly informs that RemoteFX is disabled:

    Hello @Lahtinen Kimmo (Valtori) ,

    Thanks for your response.

Please check if there's below group policy on your Windows Server 2019 computers:
Computer Configuration /Policies /Administrative Templates /Windows Components/Remote Desktop Services /Remote Desktop Session Host /Remote Session Environment
If so, please try to set the Use Advanced RemoteFX graphics for RemoteApp to disabled.
