Windows 11 Sign-in (lock) screen does not show sign in form after returning back from screensaver

It does show the sign in form (PIN input) after 15 to 25 seconds of delay.

Do you have any recommendations for the fix?

I have tried many solutions online but when I reach the log in screen the actual screen doesn’t slide up and let me type the password. It just says frozen and my keyboard and mouse doesn’t show. I tested them on different computers and they work fine. I really need this fixed for my college fast. In the bottom right all it shows is the Ethernet icon and that’s it.

Windows 11 is truly frustrating. The problem raised by the OP is very real. I have experienced it multiple times, with no fix.
It would be better, if Microsoft can define properly which Hardware can run Windows 11 flawlessly, instead of passing an Hardware and then, after restart or startup, the user can't login, only a screen saver/lock screen with date and time shows. Can't slide up, or shows black screen, without being able to sign in.

I have found the solution to this problem.

Once the screen/disc goes to sleep then the computer went from no login screen to a black asleep screen. I clicked the enter button and the login box appeared. I successfully logged in and did two things in this order.

Set Power Settings for the screen and disc to "Never Sleep".

Restored Windows 10.

Do this and you won't have this problem again.

This is a serious almost daily issue with Windows 11.

I'll walk away from my computer which will automatically lock as scheduled. When I return, I'm presented with the normal lock screen, as soon as I press any button to activate windows hello/display the login screen, it blurs the background and all I have are wifi, accessibility, and power buttons on the bottom right.

I have this problem too. Happens after the computer has gone to sleep and you want to log in again. I have tried a clean reinstall of Windows 11 and had to do a system restore as well but it keeps happening.

Sometimes I get your PIN is unavailable 0x80280100 error as well.

I'm having the same issue as apsumo. This just started this morning. Odd thing is, I moved HD so my recovery partition is not functional. Is there a technique, once I can get a recovery USB set up for Windows 11, I can find out why this would happen?

I actually have a solution to that, and just a note, it used to happen in Windows 10 too, at least in my pc...

What I do is Ctrl+Alt+Del, and it just pops the screen you were expecting ;)

In my case all i see is the lockscreen and nothing else no Wifi options nothing just the picture on the lockscreen. These days the sign in option won't appear even after waiting for 5 minutes, you just have to long press your laptop and completety shut down your laptop and pray that it works fine when you restart the laptop. It's really bad. And this is happening in 2024. Windows is really bad. Looks like it's time to switch to Linux.

I solved this problem by downgrading back to Windows 10

Hold Shift and click Restart wait until computer navigates to the Options page

From the Options select "Troubleshoot"

Select "Advanced Options"

Select "Uninstall Updates"

Select "Uninstall latest feature updates"

Wait until computer downgrades to Windows 10.

Problem solved.

I just pressed the Shift key and clicked Restart, and the Pin code input field appeared again

After the computer screensaver locks the screen:
With Windows 10, tickling the keyboard or moving the mouse would bring up the password box.
Now with Windows 11, Ctrl-Alt-Del keystroke sequence IS REQUIRED to bring up the password box.

It would be great if Microsoft could restore the Windows 10 functionality
