Old Outlook has a reputation for bloat. I used Task Manager to see how much memory Old vs New use. I was amazed to see that New Outlook uses over 1GB on my system. The "bloated" Old Outlook uses around 200MB. I thought that New Outlook was based mostly in the cloud. And with 1GB of memory, they still have a product that doesn't work as well, nor have as many features, as the Old one. Software design has changed a lot since I was doing it back in the 70s - 90s. Maybe we really should let AI do it.

Same here. The issue is now unworkable, after reading or writing one mail message, Outlook lags and stalls.
Yes, had Outlook display this just today and it ate 3GB of RAM at the time of forcibly closing it

We're continuing to analyze data provided by customers experiencing crashes and high memory utilization when using the New Outlook desktop application. Additionally, we're reviewing service telemetry and reproducing the issue internally to isolate the root cause and develop a mitigation plan.

We're investigating telemetry logs provided by impacted customers, as well as continuing to analyze service telemetry further to identify the root cause so that we can develop our remediation plan. We've recycled components which has reduced timeout errors, and are now analyzing diagnostics for Outlook client and Outlook on the web.

We're continuing our review into service telemetry and we've identified timeout errors which we're analyzing further to identify the root cause. In parallel, we're attempting to alleviate impact by recycling application pools within the affected infrastructure. Additionally, we're reviewing if other Microsoft 365 services are also impacted.
