If you encounter a prompt on the two-step verification screen of your account:
Then it is possible that the account is in an abnormal state or there is a problem with the current device's network environment. We recommend that you change the IP of the network where your account is registered or attempt to connect to a different network, and then access the Change Account Password page using the Edge browser.
Also, this error prompt you describe usually appears on the account lock unlock page, which requires you to use your phone number to get a security code, instead of the two-step verification page. So just in case you accidentally get the situation wrong, I want to remind you that if this is the case, you need to use the phone number that belongs to the place where the account is registered to unlock the account. The same method mentioned above applies.

- Log in to another available Microsoft account (Make sure you sign in with your personal Microsoft account, not your work and school account, or you won't see option 3、4、5).
- Enter MSA to search and click " contact Support" at the bottom of the page.
- Under Products & Services, select "Other Products".
- Under Categories, select "Manage account Security" and click Confirm.
- Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".
