I'm receiving the following error in the Open XML Converter Log -> 'Conversion failed'.

I'm attempting to convert a Word 2007 file that used to convert until recently.

In the crash report I am seeing the following error noted right off:

When you say that the file used to convert until recently, are you saying that the Word 2007 file is completely unchanged since you last converted it successfully?

If you feel able to post your document somewhere where we can get at it I can try to convert it for you.

Actually it appears that because I use non-standard fonts in the docx, skydrive is not very useful either. It just hangs up.

The problem still exists for this one file though, the converter doesn't convert it.

It appears to me this is a bug, is there some other place to log this problem ?

The converter does use Word software to make the conversion.

You can also convert files for free on line by opening them in skydrive

It only happens with the one Word 2007 file I mentioned, that has previously converted correctly. And I have no problems using the file or converting to a doc format using Office 2007, although the resulting file does not display the same due to a lack of 2007 features in the document.

    I don't have problems converting a Excel 2007 file.

I don't have much need for this on a Mac so I've not tried other files. Not that I have many of them anyway. However I'm pretty sure that either adding a document template into this file is causing the problem, or the way the fonts are embedded. Which means that I'm sure I can recreate the problem using a simple test file.

So my question still stands, is there a better place to be reporting this problem than here ?

Your suggestions suggest that the converter is tied to the Office installation.

Is this actually the case ?

Does this happen with a particular file or with all the files?

Check if the document works fine in Word 2007.

Ensure you have installed all the updates for Office 2004.

You may also try re-installing the converter to eliminate the cause with the converter.
