Secure https links suddenly stopped working.

I too am now one of the users where my previous working HTTPS links have stopped functioning.

I had the issue several months ago with HTTP links and I changed them over to HTTPS links and they worked until yesterday. Then the links didn't work, and I don't know if it was a "quirk" in the web site or in Excel.

I would appreciate any help in getting the hyperlinks to function again. I would also like to know how to petition Microsoft to support all HTTPS protocol sites.

I really appreciate your time in trying to get my Excel upgraded, et al.

However, I reviewed the instructions on how to remove Office, and by the time I was done, my head was literally spinning.

My issue is a real pain in the ****, but not one where I would risk losing Excel, Word, et al to fix.

So I am going to stay with the version(s) that I have and run the links manually through Safari.

Please let the MS gurus know that I am disappointed that they haven't devised an easier way to remove Office from the Mac. I expected more from Microsoft.

    Regards,

Rick Bajackson, an old Multiplan user from way back.

First, use **Disk Utility** to verify the startup volume and repair permissions. If that doesn't cure the ill, I'm thinking your least time consuming step would be to reinstall.

In order to have a successful reinstall of Office, you must first completely remove Office by carefully following **these instructions**.

Then reinstall, and allow AutoUpdate utility to bring Office to the current update.

Then use **Font Book******or other font utility to validate ALL your fonts. Delete old versions of duplicate fonts. Delete fonts that don't validate completely. Restart your Mac and empty the trash to get rid of the unneeded fonts and free up disc space.

Use a malware detection utility to make sure you Mac hasn’t picked up something nasty.

I did, but Excel Help told me to download a new and critical version of MS Update.

Then I got the following message after the download:

"An error occurred attempting to expand/users/macuser/library/caches/temporaryitems/16807 AutoUpdateInstaller.mpkg

A folder was specified when a file was required (Error #17530)."

Can you tell me what's going on?

    Thanks.

My attempt at using a pdf on this board failed. So here's the wording of the error message:

An error occurred attempting to expand/users/macuser/library/caches/temporaryitems/16807 AutoUpdateInstaller.mpkg

A folder was specified when a file was required (Error #17530).

To update Office, go to the Excel Help menu and choose Check for Updates to launch the AutoUpdate utility.
